Anything shiny — phones, watches, glass jars, glossy packaging, jewellery — acts like a mirror. Snap a photo and you'll often find your own reflection, a window, or a bright light blob sitting right on the product. It looks amateur and distracts from the item.
Why it happens
A glossy surface reflects whatever is in front of it — you, your phone, the window behind you, the ceiling light. Even a lightbox can leave hard hotspots of glare.
How to avoid it when shooting
- Shoot at a slight angle, not straight on, so the reflection falls away from the camera.
- Use soft, indirect light (a window to the side, or a sheet of paper over a lamp) instead of a bare bulb.
- Wear dark clothes and step to the side to keep yourself out of the surface.
When the reflection is already in the photo
You don't have to reshoot. Upload the photo and the AI wipes the reflection or glare off the surface — your reflection, a window, or light hotspots — while keeping the product itself exactly as it is.

Results vary with how strong the reflection is — try a couple of shots, and pick a slight angle when you can.
